Our schools

There are seven schools of Distance Education in Queensland.

Brisbane School of Distance Education

The Brisbane School of Distance Education caters for eKindy students and school age students in Prep to Year 12. Students are located anywhere from suburban homes, to caravans, tents, farms and yachts, state-wide, interstate, internationally and in mainstream secondary schools throughout Queensland. The school has taken on the challenge of making online learning a purposeful adventure. Knowing the students and helping them reach their potential is the key.

Cairns School of Distance Education

The Cairns School of Distance Education is committed to providing high quality teaching and learning to home based learners and their home tutors. The school is proud of its willingness to integrate ICTs to support the distance education curriculum. Educational programs are offered for prep to year 12 students. These students reside over a 300 000 square kilometre area of Far North Queensland (Cape York).

Capricornia School of Distance Education

Capricornia School of Distance Education's goal is to overcome the challenges created by distance, isolation and family circumstance in order to educate our students to reach their full potential. The school operates over two campuses located in Emerald and Rockhampton. The Emerald campus offers Prep to Year 6 while the Rockhampton Campus offers eKindy to Year 12.

Charleville School of Distance Education

Charleville School of Distance Education has a vibrant school community despite its members being separated by distance, hence our motto 'Divided by Distance, United by Voice'. Students are spread over a wide area of Southern and South-Western Queensland with the majority being rural families living on sheep, cattle and farming properties.

Charters Towers School of Distance Education

Charters Towers School of Distance Education uses traditional means of communication like mail and telephone, as well as audio-teleconferencing, video and the internet to cross the barriers of distance and create bonds of a school community. Students attending the school come from a diverse range of backgrounds and benefit from the individualised approach which is successful in engagement and achievement of learning goals.

Longreach School of Distance Education

Longreach School of Distance Education is committed to providing every child with a balanced education in a virtual and face to face environment with programs aimed a students achieving sustained excellent academic results and to maximise the education outcomes for every student. The majority of students are enrolled from geographically isolated locations across central west Queensland.

Mount Isa School of the Air

Mount Isa School of the Air caters for students from eKindy to Year 10, our students are drawn from a large geographical area which extends from the Gulf to Birdsville and from Richmond in the east to the Territory in the west. The school is proud of the supportive, caring and active school community with their strong cohesion in relationships between staff, parents, governesses and students.
